For FC Barcelona, there is a clear objective to compete for every single title this season. Despite their obvious financial issues, La Blaugrana have been insistent about being competitive across every competition. Still, it would not hurt for Barcelona to add some extra firepower if they can.

While most of the reports are suggesting that the club‘s pursuit of any particular major signing is going to have to wait until the summer, there are rumors about Barcelona focusing on some temporary options in January as well. One such player who could end up joining La Blaugrana right now may even belong to Manchester United.

That player would be none other than Marcus Rashford, a 27-year-old English winger who seems to have lost his place at his current club for now. In hopes of a move, it would appear that Barcelona is a destination that he likes and it is a move that the Catalan club could look to facilitate.

Moreover, as per Fabrizio Romano, the two teams that are currently linked to the player actively are Barcelona themselves and Borussia Dortmund. While there were suggestions that AS Monaco may also be involved, the Italian journalist has disregarded those claims.

However, Romano has also pointed out that Rashford’s arrival at Barcelona will depend on Ansu Fati’s departure before the end of the transfer window. Currently, the likes of Tottenham Hotspur have emerged as potential suitors for the player, but Fati himself needs to be convinced to leave as well.

If the club is unable to make it happen, there is a possibility that the English winger could end up staying at Manchester United as well. For now, it is clear to see that a move could end up happening and that Barcelona are legitimately interested, but certain things will need to happen before a move can be finalized.
