Gianluca Mancini admits Roma are struggling to quickly get to grips with new coach Ivan Juric’s tactics as they take on Udinese and ‘the best response’ to the fan protest is to win games.
It kicks off at the Stadio Olimpico at 17.00 UK time (16.00 GMT).
The last few days have been truly chaotic in the Eternal City, as on Wednesday morning coach Daniele De Rossi was sensationally fired, then this morning CEO Lina Souloukou stepped down from her position.
The ultras are also protesting, leaving the Curva Sud empty for the opening half-hour of today’s game against surprise Serie A leaders Udinese, as it’s the first time in three years the Stadio Olimpico has not been completely sold out for a home fixture.
“The best response is to win games, which we have not done recently. We are concentrated on bringing home the three points for the fans, for us and everyone around Roma,” Mancini told Sky Sport Italia.
It is the debut for new coach Ivan Juric this afternoon and he has immediately changed them to a three-man defence, which is his hallmark.
Mancini was asked how the Roma players have been able to adapt, considering he was only appointed on Wednesday afternoon.
“For what little we’ve done since Wednesday, he gave us his concepts, we tried to assimilate them as quickly as possible. We know how Mr Juric plays and we’ll try to get them as soon as possible.”
