Flamengo vice-president Marcos Braz has urged patience from fans who are growing increasingly agitated by a lack of activity in current transfer window.
The Rubro-Negro had a change in manager recently when they brought in Renato Gaúcho for the sacked Rogério Ceni.
However they have yet to fill holes in the squad, particularly the one left by midfielder Gerson’s departure to Marseille in a deal reportedly worth at least €20m.
Braz is adamant that he and the board are looking for prospective recruits, but added that they will not be pressured into make a big signing.
“We intend to bring players who can solve it. Otherwise, let’s go with what we have,” Braz told Fla TV.
“We have to be patient. If you have to change course to another player, let’s do it. We’ve already talked to Renato and he understood.”
Flamengo are in Copa Libertadores action on Wednesday when they host Defensa y Justicia in Brasília.
The Mengão hold a 1-0 lead from last week’s first leg of the Round of 16 clash with the Argentinian oppostion.
