Mark Lawrenson has been discussing Newcastle United.

Only 29 days to go until the final round of Premier League matches.

The former Liverpool defender speaking ahead of the match at St James’ Park.

Newcastle United having played forty three matches in total (all competitions) so far this season.

Twenty seven wins, five draws and eleven defeats.

Now set to face Ipswich Town at St James’ Park this afternoon.

Mark Lawrenson speaking to Paddy Power ahead of Newcastle v Ipswich:

“This will be an easy win for Newcastle.

“They were thumped by Aston Villa last week.

“I watched it and once they conceded the second that was that.

“When it was 1-1 you thought it could go either way…

“But they’ll dust themselves off nicely here.

“Prediction: Newcastle 3 Ipswich 0.”

I can’t really disagree with any of that analysis from Mark Lawrenson.

Newcastle United hoping to make it seven wins from eight in all competitions.

To ensure that Aston Villa setback was just a blip.

Last weekend, United were playing away to a team in great form with huge confidence. Two Newcastle mistakes (Tonali poor pass, Murphy not tracking back) helping Villa to the first two goals, as well as ridiculous deflections contributing to the first and third goals.

Ipswich the visitors today with Newcastle at home.

United have to take advantage of a struggling and demoralised opposition and like Mark Lawrenson, I think NUFC will do so.
