Marseille close to an agreement for Ajax’s Gerónimo Rulli | OneFootball

According to Foot Mercato, Olympique de Marseille are close to reaching a total agreement with Ajax for Argentine international Gerónimo Rulli (32).

Marseille have cast a wide net this summer as they looked for a replacement for out-of-favour starting goalkeeper Pau López (29) with Les Phocéens linked to Filip Jörgensen, Álvaro Valles, Brice Samba, and Illan Meslier.

However, it appears as if the club have now settled on bringing in the former number one for Real Sociedad and Villarreal. The goalkeeper will have some familiarity playing in France having just spent the last couple of weeks competing for Argentina at the Paris Olympics.

It had been previously reported yesterday that Marseille had made contact with both the club and the player over a move this summer. However, Foot Mercato now writes that the two clubs were very close to agreeing on a deal today and that it is only a matter of time before the Argentine signs.
