Marseille have confirmed the signing of Lens forward Elye Wahi for an initial fee of âŹ25m, with the potential for an extra âŹ5m in add-ons.
The 21-year-old has signed a 5-year-contract at the Stade VĂ©lodrome, and becomes the clubâs latest high-profile signing as Roberto de Zerbi puts his stamp on the side.
Wahi leaves Lens after just one season, following a big-money move from Montpellier. He scored 12 times in 37 appearances, with his most notable contribution being a goal and assist in a famous 2-1 win against Arsenal in the Champions League.
His arrival in the south of France could have major implications for the Gunners, with the likelihood of Eddie Nketiah joining Marseille dwindling significantly as a result.
While he is yet to represent France at senior level, Wahi was part of Thierry Henryâs Olympic squad that narrowly missed out on gold in the recent games.
He will now hope to make a big impact at the nine-time Ligue 1 champions, and help them bounce back from last seasonâs disappointing eight-placed finish.
