With UEFA Champions League football now secured, Olympique de Marseille will make Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg’s (29) move from Tottenham Hotspur permanent, L’Équipe understands.

Hojbjerg joined Marseille on loan at the start of the season. The Denmark international quickly established himself in a new-look OM midfield, making 31 appearances in all competitions, including 29 in Ligue 1. Les Phocéens, thanks to their win over Le Havre AC (3-1) on Saturday, are assured of finishing on the podium in Ligue 1 and therefore of playing Champions League football next season.

Hojbjerg will be playing European football with OM. The midfielder joined the French club on loan from Tottenham at the start of the season. That deal included an option to make the move permanent, which would be compulsory in the event of clauses being triggered. With UCL football in the bag, that option will now be triggered. L’Équipe understands that Tottenham will receive a €13m fee.
