Serie A side Milan are expected to appoint Massimiliano Allegri as their new head coach following the conclusion of the season.
According to a report by La Gazzetta dello Sport via Pianeta Milan, Massimiliano Allegri has emerged as the frontrunner to take over the Milan head coach role.
The Rossoneri swapped Paulo Fonseca for Sergio Conceicao as manager this season but have seen negligible improvement in a turbulent campaign. Currently sitting in 9th place in the league standings with 47 points on the board, Milan are fighting hard to qualify for a Europa League or a Conference League spot as their top-four chances are fading away.
Conceicao is set to remain at the helm in the final part of the season as the Milan management still believe in him to possibly attain a strong finishing position.
The Rossoneri aim to be a title contender next season and Allegri has proved himself to be a serial winner in the Serie A. Apart from his game management, Allegri is expected to help Milan unlock youngsters with immense talent while making the club a strong European force.
