Lazio midfielder Matias Vecino is likely to depart the club soon, after having been involved in a spat with manager Maurizio Sarri.

La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW) have provided some details about the situation of the Uruguayan midfielder, who has not been called up at all for the club’s Coppa Italia clash against Genoa. The reasons are disciplinary, with the player having shown disrespectful attitude.

Vecino is said to have had a spat with the Italian manager, with the Uruguayan having expected more playing time in the first team this season. Specifically, he wanted to play more against Cagliari but he only came to play the last seven minutes of the game. This led to an spat with Sarri and the rift is difficult to mend now.

In January, Vecino could leave the club and Lazio could be open to the sale. It remains to be seen whether Galatasaray return to the fold for the player or not, having had an approach buffed in the summer.
