Roma defender Mats Hummels spoke to DAZN prior to kick-off at Stadio Dall’Ara.
The German veteran was interviewed ahead of the match with Bologna.
“The first two months were strange for me, I had never not played for so long,” he reflected on his initial moments in the Italian capital.
“The first leg with Bologna marked an important shift for me and the whole team. Things changed and we improved our journey.”
“The derby and the other previous games have given us back the enthusiasm we had lost.”
“Tonight is another important match, let’s see what Roma can do.”
While speaking to Sky Sport, the defender added, “This is my best moment since I arrived in Italy. I’m playing and we’re doing very well. We’re on the right path and we want to move forward together, as a team.”
On his future he said, “I just want to play and do well, then maybe in a couple of weeks I’ll start talking to the club. Now I’m focused on the pitch, there have been no talks.”
