A fresh insight into the future of Real Madrid star Joselu with the club has tonight been forthcoming.
The info comes courtesy of Marca, and points towards the frontman’s continuation into next season perhaps not being as certain as it has previously been suggested.
Joselu, for his part, has of course enjoyed a fine campaign in Spain’s capital.
Though far from first-choice in Carlo Ancelotti’s frontline, the experienced attacker has racked up a hefty 42 appearances across all competitions, notching 13 goals and three assists along the way.
With his loan deal from Espanyol featuring a release clause set at just €1.5 million, it has in turn long been reported in the media that Joselu can for all intents and purposes be considered a permanent Real Madrid player.
As per the aforementioned Marca, however, whilst as much certainly remains an option, it is not at all a sure thing.
Whilst the brass at the Santiago Bernabéu are more than happy with the contributions of the 34-year-old this season, they are also wary of potential overbooking in attack for the 2024/25 campaign.
Both Endrick and Kylian Mbappé are of course pencilled in to add to the options of Carlo Ancelotti this summer.
And whilst Real’s headmaster would love nothing more than to still have Joselu at his disposal, too, finding minutes for so many high-profile players could prove a challenge.
Not only that, but interest in the Spanish international by way of Saudi Arabia is beginning to mount.
Joselu and his entourage, in turn, will soon sit down for a round of negotiations with the Real Madrid hierarchy.
And though the player is for his part hopeful of an agreement being found to continue their relationship, it cannot be ruled out that his wish will go un-granted.
