Middlesbrough and Queens Park Rangers were both snubbed by former Championship golden boot winner Matej Vydra before signing for Viktoria Plzen.
That is according to Football Insider, who report that both sides expressed an interest in signing the 30-year-old, who has been a free agent since leaving Burnley back in the summer.
Having now recovered from a serious injury that saw him remain a free agent for so long, though, Vydra has rejected the Championship interest in his services, instead opting to sign for Viktoria Plzen back in the Czech Republic.
Of course, Vydra will be a familiar name to fans of the EFL, having played for the likes of Watford, Derby, Reading and Burnley.
Indeed, across the Premier League and Championship, the 30-year-old striker has amassed a total of 293 appearances.
During those matches, Vydra netted on 76 occasions, as well as registering 33 assists for his teammates.

Of course, back in 2017/18 after an impressive campaign at Derby County, Vydra was awarded the Championship’s golden boot award having scored 21 goals that season.
Viktoria Plzen confirmed earlier this week that Vydra had signed a two and a half year contract with the club.
It isn’t a huge surprise to hear that there was Championship interest in Matej Vydra, to be honest.
His record in the division has been fantastic over the years and there are many many clubs that I’m sure would gladly take him in their squads, if not their starting XI’s.
It’s interesting that he has returned to the Czech Republic rather than explore these offers, but, perhaps at this stage of his career, a return to his homeland is a more attractive proposition.
No doubt he will score goals for Plzen when he goes on to make his debut for the club.
