The seeming abandonment of talks with Fabio Paratici also change Milan’s strategy for a new coach, as Max Allegri, Maurizio Sarri and Vincenzo Italiano climb the rankings.
It had seemed like a done deal 48 hours ago for Paratici to become the new director of sport at San Siro, therefore also dictating their transfer policy and the choice of tactician.
However, yesterday the negotiations suddenly slammed into a brick wall, as the club could not accept the lack of protection in case the legal case into Paratici’s financial dealings at Juventus.
While his 30-month ban expires in July, the civil court has not even started the proceedings and those continue to hang over his future.

This also inevitably changes Milan’s strategy for the coach, because the Corriere della Sera insists Roberto De Zerbi and Antonio Conte had been only really plausible with Paratici at the helm.
Instead, the newspaper points them towards free agents Allegri and Sarri, along with current Bologna boss Italiano.
Without doubt, the delays in finding a new director of sport are going to have knock-on effects for Milan’s planning for next season.
