The difficult season continued for Milan Futuro as Lucchese clinched three important points in the race at the bottom of the standings. To say that the situation is dire would be an understatement, with relegation now a serious risk.
Having managed a 2-1 win against SPAL last time out, Daniele Bonera’s men headed into today’s clash with confidence. The manager was also able to field a relatively strong team, even if Davide Bartesaghi, Alex Jimenez and Francesco Camarda are with the first team.
Lucchese more or less killed the Rossoneri’s chances of winning the games in just six minutes, scoring the opener through a deflected shot from Tumbarello in the 29th minute. And in the 35th, they doubled the lead as Saporiti was left alone with Lapo Nava.
At the start of the second half, Milan had a few chances to make things interesting, first through Diego Sia and Bob Murphy Omoregbe. In the 55th minute, the experienced striker Andrea Magrassi came close but hit the post, with the Rossoneri left frustrated.
Nava had to step up ten minutes later with a brilliant save to keep the game ‘alive’ for his side, but it meant little in the end. Daniele Bonera’s men tried but couldn’t find the back of the net and Lucchese, who were just one point ahead in the standings before the game, secured all three points.
