MILAN FUTURO PLAY OUT GOALLESS DRAW WITH RIMINI

Milan Futuro played out a goalless draw at home to Rimini on matchday 24 in Group B of Serie C Now. It’s a point that will provide another confidence boost after the 2-2 stalemate against Ascoli, but the Rossoneri will have some regrets after managing the match well and creating plenty of chances, just like last week. Most notably, Magrassi had a penalty saved by Colombi after 26 minutes. There were also opportunities for Ianesi, Quirini and Sandri in the second half.

Nevertheless, it was another convincing display from Bonera’s side, who were aggressive and were just missing a goal. Following the announcement of his signing during the week, Ettore Quirini made his debut as a starter today and impressed, winning the Diavolo’s spot-kick. Defensively, the Rossoneri looked solid and gave nothing away, and there were also some excellent individual performances, with Stalmach, for example, in the heart of the action. The team’s next match will be away to SPAL at 15:00 CET on Saturday.

MATCH REPORT Milan Futuro’s approach to the game was excellent, although the visitors had the first effort at goal as Cinquegrano forced Torriani into a low save. At the other end, Ianesi had an attempt deflected behind for a corner. In the 25th minute, Quirini was brought down in the box, resulting in a Rossoneri penalty. Magrassi stepped up and struck powerfully from the spot, but Colombi produced a great save. Stalmach also threatened for Milan Futuro, who remained in control, but the teams headed back to the changing rooms on level terms.

After the restart, the Rossoneri continued to dominate play. In the 51st minute, Ianesi let fly with a right-footed curling effort from the edge of the box, but it went over. We once again threatened on the 69-minute mark: Magrassi knocked the ball down for Quirini, who failed to hit the target from inside the box. In the 77th minute, the ball dropped to Sandri, who couldn’t keep the ball down from the edge of the area. Longobardi had two shots from distance for Rimini, who held firm in the latter stages. It finished 0-0.
