Serie A giants Milan have missed out on Vincenzo Italiano and are now trying to find an agreement to land Max Allegri as manager.

Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo has reported that Italiano is set to sign a new deal with the Rossoblu and after Milan attempted to seek a move for Thiago Motta, they’ve moved towards Allegri.

They have now intensified contacts for the ex-Juventus manager and aim to quickly find an agreement for him. They are looking to initially reach a draft agreement and beat competition from Napoli, who are keen on signing the Italian and have already put a two-year deal on the table.

Friday is expected to be a key day in the saga as Allegri is keen on making sure that he decides his future this week and it doesn’t drag on to next week. He is waiting for a signal from Napoli and if doesn’t arrive, he will agree to join Milan.
