Milan want to make sure Alex Jimenez stays with them a while longer even though Real Madrid have inserted multiple buy-back clauses in the previous deal between the two teams. The Rossoneri will convene with the counterparty in the near future, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs (via Calcio News 24).

The Spanish youngster initially joined on loan in 2023 and was then redeemed for €5M, signing a contract until 2028 with the Serie A powerhouse. On the other hand, Los Galacticos can reunite with him by spending €9M next summer and €12M in 2026.

Milan will attempt to remove the options hanging over the future of Jimenez, or at least postpone them to later years. He has appeared 17 times this campaign, 14 of which in Serie A. He had started with the Futuro squad in the third division but was quickly promoted.

The 19-year-old is naturally a right-back but has manned a few different roles during his time at San Siro. He has two caps with Spain U-19. The Rossoneri are looking for more clarity at the position, considering that the future of Theo Hernandez and Emerson Royal is uncertain. They previously had the same posture about Brahim Diaz, but he returned to the Spanish capital anyway after three years.

Our Take on Milan and Jimenez

He’s definitely a keeper since he has shown well already and hasn’t suffered from his team’s woes despite his young age. On the other hand, it’ll take a fairly large investment and some convincing to persuade Real Madrid, which are generally highly reluctant to relinquish control over their youth products and have very little motivation to do so in this case too.
