Milan seem adamant about continuing their efforts to trim their list of recent signings, as Emerson Royal also appears set to leave the club at the end of the season.

The Rossoneri’s decision to send Álvaro Morata to Galatasaray after just six months had already raised doubts about the clarity of their recent transfer strategy, prompting many to question why they signed the Spaniard in the first place, only to replace him with a very different profile in Santiago Gimenez.

However, the same question could be asked about Emerson Royal, whose performances have been under scrutiny since the start, with the club opting to sign Kyle Walker partly due to the Brazilian’s struggles.

As explained by TMW, Milan were open to selling the former Tottenham full-back in January, deeming his contribution inadequate and reportedly opening negotiations with Galatasaray.

Talks were interrupted after Emerson Royal’s injury against Girona, which will keep him sidelined until March, but the Rossoneri have not changed their stance on the player’s future and hope to reopen discussions to finalize his departure next summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Turkey is still considered the most likely destination for the 26-year-old, with the Diavolo aware that securing a permanent transfer may prove difficult.
