Plymouth will face a battle to keep hold of several key men after their relegation to League One.
Plymouth’s relegation back to League One was effectively confirmed this weekend, despite Miron Muslic’s side beating Preston 2-1 at Deepdale.
It has been a turbulent campaign for Argyle, who initially had Wayne Rooney in charge, but Muslic’s appointment has brought some optimism about what the future could hold, despite relegation.
Nevertheless, dropping to the third tier is going to have consequences, with some key players likely to move on.
Muslic is very much about the collective, so he will build a squad that wants to be at Home Park, and the aim will be to bounce back at the first attempt.
As outlined above, though, change is inevitable this summer, and whether it’s financial or sporting reasons, some players and the club will see a parting of ways as the right thing to do.
With that in mind, we look at THREE players who could be on the move from Plymouth this summer…
It has been a strange season for Hardie, who had only scored one goal by February.
Yet, he followed that up with nine more, and, incredibly, every goal that Hardie scored this season came in a win for the Green Army, so he made some huge contributions.
Therefore, a transfer seems likely, especially as the forward is out of contract in the summer of 2026, so this could be the last chance to get a decent fee for the player.
So, whilst Plymouth may want to keep Hardie, it will prove difficult, and his form this season is likely to have attracted plenty of suitors.
Another player Argyle will struggle to retain is Mumba, with the 23-year-old having played more minutes than anyone else in the group.
The former Norwich man brings a lot to the team with his energy and pace down the flanks, and whilst there are still areas of his game that he can improve, Mumba is a player with plenty of talent.
It had been claimed that Leeds were monitoring Mumba in January, and whilst a move to Elland Road seems unlikely given they have now won promotion, it shows how highly-rated he is in the game.
So, an interesting summer lies ahead for the versatile Mumba, and even though Plymouth will do all they can to keep him around, it remains to be seen whether they can.
The attacker has been Plymouth’s most productive player this season, scoring ten goals and registering six assists going into the final day.
Those numbers will ensure he has been noticed by rival clubs, and Plymouth’s chances of keeping Bundu look very bleak when you consider that he is out of contract in the summer.
Muslic has made it clear that he is a fan of the attacker, and he does appear settled with the Pilgrims after a very eventful career so far that has taken him to Denmark, Belgium and Spain before he arrived at Plymouth.
