In theory, one of the best players in the world is a free agent less than six months time, but Mohamed Salah already has a destination settled. After series of comments suggesting that his time at Anfield is coming to an end, that looks as if it will be the case.
Liverpool have been doing their best to renew his contract, alongside those of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk, but Relevo report that any ongoing efforts are likely to be in vain. Inside Miguel Rico has written that rumours about Real Madrid or Barcelona potentially going for Salah on a free this summer should not be paid attention to, as he has already agreed to become the star signing for Saudi Arabia next summer.
Their information is that it is not necessarily decided which team he will play for, as the Saudi Ministry for Sport will decide which of the big four clubs he will join between Al-Hilal, Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli and Al-Nassr. Any rumours of a contract renewal at Liverpool have been met with calm in Saudi Arabia as they believe it is a done deal.
Any rumours linking Salah to Barcelona or Real Madrid always seemed somewhat improbable, as Barcelona have Lamine Yamal in his favoured position, and Real Madrid have four star forwards already competing for places in their squad. The Egyptian has defined an era at Liverpool, but it seems his eight-year spell is in its final throes.
