AS Monaco manager Adi Hütter has confirmed that the club are looking to sign an experienced midfielder before the closure of the transfer window on Monday. His comments come amid strong links with a move for Ajax midfielder Jordan Henderson (34).
Monaco have been in the market for a midfielder throughout the window and were even close to completing the signing of Éric Junior Dina Ebimbe from Eintracht Frankfurt earlier this week. However, that move broke down after the Frenchman failed his medical.
The Principality club have turned their attention to Henderson. Les Monégasques are looking to complete the signing of the former Liverpool captain before the closure of the window. The Englishman, amid the links, did not captain Ajax on Thursday night.
The Eredivisie side seem keen to retain Henderson and therefore a deal may be difficult but Monaco remain confident of a deal and, as per Fabrizio Romano, are working towards a positive conclusion. Speaking at a press conference, attended by Get French Football News on Friday, Hütter confirmed that Les Monégasques are looking to sign an “experienced midfielder” with the Monaco manager pointing out that the club already have plenty of “young and talented” players in this position.
