Morocco’s Sofyan Amrabat after win over Portugal: “We deserve this, 1000 percent” | OneFootball

Morocco midfielder Sofyan Amrabat has stated that the African side deserved to win against Portugal.

Morocco have now become the first African side to reach the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup and they have now beaten Portugal, Spain and Belgium in the tournament so far.

Amrabat has arguably been Morocco’s best player so far in the tournament, as he has held his own in midfield and has done well in possession too.

After the win over Portugal, Amrabat told the FIFA channels (via ABola): “It is truly unbelievable! I’m very proud! We deserve this, 1000 percent. It’s always like that, simply that we fight and play in each match: with our hearts, for our country and for our people.”

The Fiorentina midfielder further stated: “We had some injury problems, and with only three defenses doing what we did deserves respect! A great respect for them and for everyone, for the fans, for the coach, for the players.”

Morocco will face the winner of the game involving England and France in the semi-final.
