At 20:45 (CET) tomorrow, Friday 7 February 2025, Juventus will take on Como away from home on Matchday 24 of the Serie A season.
Coach Thiago Motta previewed the challenge against Como in today’s press conference.
“Tomorrow will be a complicated match. Como are a strong team that play good football and have caused problems for many top teams. They have strengthened during the January transfer window, so they have become even more competitive and we will have to be completely focused on the challenge at hand to return home with a positive result. When I talk about ambition, I cannot fail to mention [Cesc] Fabregas. His Como team have played with great courage in all their league matches this season and that will be the case again tomorrow (Friday 7 February). He is proving to be a very astute coach.
“I am happy and proud of all my players, those who were here before and those who have arrived in this transfer window. We will continue to work with determination to achieve our goals. These guys are giving everything, they have an extraordinary dedication to work. I always say that, but it is right to emphasise it. We also know that in the end, though, it's the results that count, so we will continue to strive for better results. This group is constantly developing. We are trying to get better every day, training after training, and that is our main goal. Only in this way can we achieve the consistency of results that we want.
“I spoke to Alberto [Costa] to explain his exclusion from the UEFA Champions League squad, he understood and accepted it calmly. His exclusion does not mean that my staff and I are not happy with him. We are very happy with his work, we like him because he arrived with a lot of ambition. He works hard every day, he is very young, but he has the ambition to want to prove himself every day. I am sure that when his opportunity comes he will know how to make the most of it.
“Although they are both left-footed, by nature left-footed players are technically strong, and [Lloyd] Kelly and [Renato] Veiga can play together. Moreover, one can play as a full-back (Kelly) and the other as a central defender (Veiga). If needed, the latter can also be deployed in midfield, he already has experience playing in that position in his career. They are two players whose characteristics and quality will help the team when we need it.
“We all agreed unanimously to bring [Randal] Kolo Muani to Turin because a player of his calibre could only raise the level of our team and he has already shown it in his first two matches, but he can do even better.
“[Dusan] Vlahovic's attitude has been impeccable, from the first day of pre-season. He has always trained well and contributed to the team. Even when he was not at his best, he was always available and willing to work.
"I am happy that [Andrea] Cambiaso has stayed at a great club like Juventus. I think he always had the desire to stay with us. Tomorrow he will not be available, along with [Pierre] Kalulu and the players struggling with longer-term injuries.”
