There are multiple reports emerging this evening that Milan will sack coach Paulo Fonseca if he fails to beat Roma, lining up Sergio Conceicao.
The rumour spread like wildfire at San Siro when the two teams took to the field for tonight’s Serie A showdown.
Sky Sport Italia, Sport Mediaset, La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sportitalia all have the same story – that Fonseca’s position suddenly became very weak indeed and he would be fired if he failed to get all three points against Claudio Ranieri’s Roma.
According to Sportitalia, this is because there was a very tense meeting between coach Fonseca and RedBird consultant Zlatan Ibrahimovic earlier today.

It is a sign of the tension around the club in general, where today there were more deafening chants from the supporters urging RedBird owner Gerry Cardinale to sell up.
The protests have largely targeted the American owners, Ibrahimovic and some of the star players, with Fonseca given credit for clamping down on the attitude of Rafael Leao and Theo Hernandez.
If the decision was made to fire Fonseca now, it could spark further protests from the ultras, who are already furious.
The surprising aspect is the report that Sergio Conceicao has already been lined up to take over at Milan.
Also Portuguese, the 50-year-old was a player in Serie A for Lazio, Parma and Inter from 1998 to 2004.
His coaching career has seen him work for the likes of SC Braga, Vitoria Guimaraes, FC Nantes and for seven years FC Porto until his departure in June 2024.
