Mykhailo Mudryk produced an exquisite assist from inside his own half for Ukraine in their Euro U21s quarter-final win over France.
Mudryk had already been integral in his country drawing level in Sunday’s last-eight showdown by winning the penalty which Heorhiy Sudakov converted.
But the Chelsea winger saved the best for last in the opening 45 minutes with a superb long-range through ball to put Ruslan Rotan’s side in a half-time lead.
Sudakov pounced on his former Shakhtar Donetsk teammate’s 60-yard delivery before punishing Les Bleus with a well-taken finish.
Ukraine went on to win the tie 3-1 to set up a reunion with former Group B opponents Spain in Wednesday’s Bucharest semi-final.
New Blues’ manager Mauricio Pochettino will definitely have enjoyed that touch of class from the club’s high-profile January recruit!
