Speaking in an interview with France Football, OGC Nice attacker Myziane Maolida discussed the difficult period he had between 2018 and 2020, where he was perennially injured.
“Above all, I learned that it takes a lot of work to be in good shape. When you’re not hurt, there are things you overlook. You tend to relax a little, you won’t warm up much before the session, we’ll arrive on the pitch without being warm. There is therefore a greater risk of injury. And when you are injured, you realise that you have to do the preventative work, do exercises to be more prepared, so that your muscles can withstand the efforts. I have exercises really specific to me, I know that, on the muscle side, I need to warm up and mobilise myself. This is what I put in place. Prevention so that I am ready as soon as I arrive on the field in training or in a match. I have made a lot of progress in terms of this work, and in the recovery. This is the major facet. I neglected it, I did it intermittently. I don’t laugh about it anymore. And it pays off. We can see the difference directly. I feel more apt to produce a strong session or a strong game.”
