Turkish Süper Lig giants Fenerbahçe are taking an interest in Nantes Academy graduate Nathan Zézé (19), according to a report from Ouest-France. The Istanbul-based outfit are currently in the market for a centre-back. They previously tested Lens’ resolve to keep Austria international Kevin Danso. Although it would be a surprise for Will Still’s Artois side to part ways with another senior centre-back as Abdukodir Khusanov is edging closer to a €50m move to Premier League champions Manchester City. Besides, Lens starting goalkeeper and club captain Brice Samba also left this winter transfer window, joining Ligue 1 rivals Stade Rennais.
Ouest-France understands that Fenerbahçe’s focus has switched towards Zézé. The outlet adds that advanced talks were held between the club and the France U21 international centre-back and that no bid has been submitted yet to Nantes. The Ligue 1 club have previously confided it would take at least a €20m bid for them to consider parting ways with Zézé. The Nantes Academy graduate is tied with Nantes over a contract set to expire in 2028.
