Newcastle United reportedly sent scouts to watch Celtic winger Nicolas Kuhn this week ahead of a summer move for the German forwardDaily Mail.

The Newcastle scouts must have been impressed as they watched him in the Champions League as Bayern locked horns with Celtic. The 25-year-old picked up the ball after just 26 seconds, cut inside Raphael Gurreiro and unleashed a fierce drive that beat Manuel Neuer.

Unfortunately, the goal was ruled out for Adam Idah being offside, but it epitomises why the Toons are after Kuhn and why he has become such hot property.

The Newcastle target has netted two goals and created four big chances in nine Champions League appearances this term. Kuhn has been equally sensational in the Scottish Premiership, recording 10 goals and eight big chances created in 20 appearances.

Kuhn has registered 17 goals and 12 assists in 29 appearances across all competitions this term.

The right-wing position is a problem for Newcastle with Miguel Almiron gone. Jacob Murphy has been in unbelievable form this season, but manager Eddie Howe needs options.

After an uninspiring summer transfer window, Newcastle did not sign anyone during the January transfer window. The Magpies have some reinforcing to do, and the right wing must take priority.

Kuhn joined Celtic for just £3 million from Rapid Vienna in 2023 and has grown leaps and bounds since. He might feel ready to take the next step, which could be a move to St. James’ Park.

Per the report, Celtic want £20 million to let him leave, but the Hoops might even ask potential suitors like Newcastle for more.
