Newcastle United have had a mixed start to the season, but they now appear to have hit a good run of form at the right time.

The Magpies claimed back-to-back wins against Arsenal and Nottingham Forest before the international break, climbing up to eighth in the Premier League standings.

Eddie Howe’s side will want to continue their momentum when they return to action later this month to welcome West Ham United to St James’ Park.

Newcastle face a busy schedule after the international break but will also have an eye on the upcoming January transfer window.

The Tyneside club will be keen to add some quality stars, but they will also look to offload fringe players from the squad.

According to the Sunday Mirror, Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in signing experienced goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

The 35-year-old’s current contract expires next summer, and he is unlikely to be offered a new deal.

Dubravka joined the Magpies in 2018 and has gone on to make 164 appearances in all competitions, with 47 clean sheets to his name.

The Slovakia international has started only once this season in the Carabao Cup win against AFC Wimbledon.

However, he played an important role last season when he featured in 30 games in all competitions, keeping eight clean sheets.

Nick Pope is currently the number-one goalkeeper under Howe, and they also brought in Odysseas Vlachodimos last summer.

Newcastle are prepared to sell Dubravka amid interest from Saudi clubs. They are expected to move for Burnley’s James Trafford as a replacement for Dubravka.
