The North East player of the year for 2024 is Alexander Isak.

The North East Football Writers Association (NEFWA) Chairman Colin Young revealing the news.

Via his personal Twitter/X account, Colin Young announcing that Alexander Isak will pick up this latest accolade.

An event to be held at Ramside Hall on 2 March 2025 for the award to be presented to the Sweden international.

The 2023 North East Player of the year award for 2023 went to Kieran Trippier.

The NEFWA Chairman also revealed that the women’s award for 2024 will go to Newcastle United midfielder Elysia Boddy.

More pressing matters for Alexander Isak though at this moment in time.

The striker was rested for the FA Cup match against Bromley but is expected to return tonight against Wolves.

Having scored ten goals in his last nine Newcastle United appearances, including seven in the last five, Isak hoping to continue this rich vein of form and help fire United into the top four with victory against Wolves.
