Neymar can still undertake a move to Barcelona despite his father’s intentions to buy Santos – Report | OneFootball

FC Barcelona are looking to strengthen their forward line in the upcoming summer transfer window and one of the players that has been linked with them for this purpose in the last few weeks is none other than their former superstar, Neymar Jr.

The Brazilian forward recently joined his boyhood club, and has shown some signs of getting back to his best level since this move. Meanwhile, reports of his desire to rejoin the Blaugrana club have also been doing the rounds in different outlets, and the agent Pini Zahavi is also reportedly keen to see this move take place.

Even though he was involved in his departure to PSG, Zahavi is not Neymar’s agent, and the Samba star is represented by his father, Neymar Sr. The latter will agree to any decision his son takes, and was already not too keen to see his son leave Barcelona for PSG despite their disagreements with Josep Maria Bartomeu.

However, as SPORT has reported, although this is not going to impact the former Blaugrana star’s future, Neymar Sr. is interested in buying his current club, Santos, reportedly through a conglomerate of investors, who will most likely be Saudis.

Reports indicate that the Neymar family fortune has already surpassed the mark of $1 billion, and Neymar’s father has become keenly involved in the activities of Santos since his son returned to play there. He has already sought investors to improve the facilities of the training centre and to work on the changing rooms.

However, this process is still in its very initial stages, and taking over the Brazilian club will be possible only after the club itself approves such a takeover. But even if this takeover is completed in the coming months or years, such a move will not bind Neymar to Santos, as the player is keen for a move to Barcelona.
