Athletic Club winger Nico Williams reportedly has ‘his heart set on a Premier League move’ this summer.
Williams is a transfer target for several top clubs with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool all linked with the winger. The 22-year-old turned down an exit from Athletic Club last summer, having starred during Spain’s win at Euro 2024.
Williams was a leading target for Barcelona, though interest from the Spanish side has reduced following Raphinha’s form this season.
The Premier League appears the likeliest destination for Williams and El Nacional claim the in-demand star has already started his ‘goodbyes’ in the Basque country.
Williams is understood to be keen on a transfer to the Premier League and has a release clause of around €58m (£48.8m) in his contract at the San Mames Stadium. Several English sides have held exploratory talks with the player’s representatives.
This season, Williams has scored 11 goals and created seven assists in 44 appearances across all competitions. He ranks in the top 10 La Liga players this season for shot-creating actions (9th), progressive carries (6th) and successful take-ons (7th).
