Noni Madueke explains exactly what Enzo Maresca did to improve his game | OneFootball

Chelsea fans around the world are waking up right now and remembering what a big day this is.

The Blues take on Newcastle at St James’ Park, in a game which is pretty close to a playoff for Champions League football. We will still need results in our final two games if we win today, but a victory would be a massive step forward, and a defeat put us almost out of it.

The players are aware of just how major it is, as you can can tell from Noni Madueke’s interview on the club’s official website that was published yesterday.

“It’s a massive game,” the winger said.

“The three games we have left are going to be vital, but we definitely want to go to St James’ Park and try and get a win. That’s how we will approach it, and we can do it. Everyone knows we have aspirations to finish in the Champions League positions, and the great win against Liverpool was a massive step forward.”

What Maresca has done to upgrade Madueke’s game

The winger has had his ups and downs at Chelsea, but he’s in good form of late and has really improved under Enzo Maresca. Madueke was hesitant to talk too much about himself as an individual, but was willing to accept some praise:

“I just want to win the rest of the games. I’m not too bothered about what I do as an individual, in the best way possible. It’s more about trying to win these games as a collective. Of course, I always try to affect the game and do my job – it helps my team if I play well – but it’s really about the collective right now,” Madueke said.

“[Maresca] has helped me in certain aspects of my game, with my numbers for sure. He has helped me try to be in the right positions to try to affect the game as much as possible and show my qualities.”
