Therefore could be some good news in store for INEOS, as a Saudi Pro League club is reportedly tracking Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The 29-year-old had an embarrassing outing on Thursday, as his howlers forced the Red Devils to settle for a 2-2 draw against Lyon in the first leg of the Europa League quarter-finals.

This disappointing showing came on the back of a back-and-forth media altercation with Nemanja Matic who savagely responded to the Cameroonian who claimed United have a much better side than their French opponents.

Sadly for Man Utd, these abysmal showings have been synonymous with Onana’s time at the club. Therefore, Ruben Amorim could finally decide to drop the former Inter Milan star from his starting lineup and give Altay Bayindir his first Premier League appearance this season in Sunday’s away clash against Newcastle.

Nevertheless, Onana’s presence at Carrington remains a scourge for the Premier League giants. After all, Man Utd would certainly want to replace him next summer, but offloading the allegedly ‘unpopular’ player remains a daunting task amidst his continuous struggles.

But according to Italian journalist Nicolo Schira, United could find themselves an ally in the shape of an unnamed Saudi club that is interested in the goalkeeper’s services.

“A Saudi Club has shown interest in Andre Onana, who could leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window,” posted the market insider on his X account.

This would be a major boost for the Red Devils who would certainly relish the opportunity to offload the disappointing custodian who cost them £47.5 million in the summer of 2023, but failed to replicate the heroics he displayed during his stints at Ajax and Inter.

In addition to Onana, Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne is being heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia after announcing his departure from the Etihad at the end of the season.

INEOS are reportedly keeping tabs on several possible replacements for Onana, including Burnley’s James Trafford and Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen.
