Tegan Finn has shot into the spotlight this season, and the Premier League surprise package are looking to take him to the City Ground.
Premier League high-fliers Nottingham Forest are planning a move for Plymouth Argyle starlet Tegan Finn ahead of the 11pm transfer deadline.
Pete O'Rourke has reported that Nuno Espírito Santo's are looking to beat rivals to the signature of the 16-year-old, who made his debut in the Championship in November against Leeds United.
The winger has made four appearances in the second tier so far this season, with his most recent appearance coming in the Pilgrims' crushing 5-0 home defeat to Burnley nearly two weeks ago.
Plymouth have improved quickly in the two games since their loss to the Clarets, picking up four points against two of the Championship's best in Sunderland and West Bromwich Albion. A 2-1 victory over the Baggies on Saturday was Miron Muslic's first since taking over at the start of January.
Football Insider revealed earlier in the window that a number of Premier League sides were showing an interest in Finn after his rise to stardom in the last couple of months, however, Forest are now pushing to make a move before tonight's deadline.
The winger has shown plenty of promise this season, having only signed a scholarship with Plymouth in the summer.
The left-footed talent has been in excellent form for the club's youth teams, and the Reds are keen to move him from Devon to the East Midlands to help take his development further, with the Premier League side pushing for Champions League football.
Losing Finn would be a critical blow to Argyle in the long-term, and they will be hoping that the promise of game time will be enough to keep him at Home Park for the coming months and years.
Plymouth have been threatened by relegation for nearly the entirety of the season, but the last week has been extremely positive for them, and safety is within touching distance.
After spending the majority of December and January cut adrift, Argyle have closed the gap to Derby County and Luton Town, and there is the opportunity to overtake both of them next weekend if results go their way.
Therefore, Muslic will not want to let go of one of his future stars with Championship football still a possibility in 2025/26, and his club must only accept a huge offer.
Plymouth will be able to give Finn plenty of minutes on the pitch in the next couple of years, and sticking with the Devonshire outfit would be highly beneficial for his future. If he continues at his current development rate, then he will play regular Premier League football soon, but a move now is perhaps too early.
