Nottingham Forest vs Chelsea – Predicted lineup and team news

The Football Faithful
·25 May 2025
Nottingham Forest face Chelsea in a potential winner-takes-all showdown at the City Ground this afternoon.
Both sides retain hope of Champions League qualification and know only a win will do. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have secured European football for the first time since 1995 but are hopeful it will be in the Champions League. Forest must win to stand any chance of a place in Europe’s elite, while hoping either Newcastle or Aston Villa also fail to win.
Chelsea will confirm their place in the competition with three points, barring an unlikely swing in goal difference involving Aston Villa. The West Londoners have an 11-goal advantage on Unai Emery’s side heading into the final weekend.
Murillo is a major doubt for Forest with the defender having failed to rejoin training during the week after an ankle issue. Morato will deputise if Murillo does not recover in time.
Callum Hudson-Odoi could return to the starting side against his former side after beginning the win at West Ham on the bench.
Taiwo Awoniyi is a definite absentee after undergoing urgent surgery on a ruptured intestine earlier this month. The Nigerian forward is recovering well from the operation.
The Premier League’s final found of fixtures takes place on Sunday May 25th 2025. Kick-off in each fixture is 4pm BST.
