Nottingham Forest manager Nuno has sent a message to Anthony Elanga after his heroics on Saturday.

Forest maintained their chances of finishing in the Premier League top four this season with a win on Saturday afternoon.

Nuno’s side beat Ipswich Town 4-2 away from home at Portman Road in front of 29,878 spectators.

Elanga scored two goals for the visiting team, who are now third in the Premier League table with 54 points from 29 matches.

While Forest manager Nuno was pleased with the £15 million (BBC Sport) Sweden international winger, he wants the 22-year-old to score two goals in one match again.

Last season, Elanga scored five goals and gave nine assists in 25 Premier League starts for Forest, who want to sign Udinese central defender Thomas Kristensen in the summer transfer window.

The young winger has scored five goals and made eight assists in 23 league starts for Nuno’s side this season.

Nuno told BBC Sport when asked about Elanga scoring twice for the first time in the Premier League: “The first time? He has to do it again.

“He was huge for us today. Not only the goals he got but also his defensive tasks. He was always in the game.”

View: Nottingham Forest should be confident about top four

Forest have been the surprise package of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.

The Tricky Trees finished 17th in the Premier League table last season, and many expected them to struggle in this campaign as well.

Nuno has completely transformed Forest, who have won their last two Premier League games and have lost just seven matches all season.

Of course, there could still be a lot of twists in the race for the UEFA Champions League places, but Forest have been pretty consistent.

Forest have always bounced back from setbacks, and the City Ground faithful should be confident that the team will get the job done in the end.

The Reds will next take on Brighton and Hove Albion away from home in the FA Cup quarter-finals before facing Manchester United at the City Ground in the Premier League.
