AC Milan head coach Sergio Conceicao has named his starting XI to face Bologna, and he has opted for selective rotation.
With the Coppa Italia final next Wednesday, there was speculation in the build-up to the game that Conceicao might make mass changes to the side, both to preserve their fitness but also to try and disguise his plans a bit.
The coach has not been helped by the fact will be without five players for tonight’s game. Rafael Leao is suspended, while Emerson Royal has just returned from a long absence and won’t be available. Warren Bondo, Youssouf Fofana and Riccardo Sottil are the other absentees.
Consistency and continuity are clearly key in Conceicao’s eyes as he has named an unchanged rearguard of Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic ahead of Mike Maignan. Alex Jimenez and Theo Hernandez remain the wing-backs too.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek starts again but moves into the midfield to partner Tijjani Reijnders in the double pivot. Christian Pulisic and Luka Jovic keep their place, with Joao Felix coming in to complete the attack.
