AS Monaco have announced the contract extension of head coach Adi Hütter. The 54-year-old Austrian manager was entering the final year of the two-year contract he signed in 2023. Hütter was then a free agent, having previously coached Borussia Mönchengladbach in the 2021-2022 Bundesliga season. He has put pen to paper over a two-year contract extension, tying him with Les Monégasques until 2027. Hütter’s first campaign in the French Riviera was a success, leading Monaco to a second-place finish in Ligue 1 thus qualifying the Principality club for the Champions League.
With Hütter as head coach this season, Monaco are third in the league and are well on course to qualify for the Champions League playoff rounds with two games to spare, against Aston Villa and Inter Milan. On Sunday, Hütter has the opportunity to lift his first trophy as Monaco manager with Les Monégasques facing Ligue 1 champions PSG in the Trophée des Champions, which will be held at Doha’s Stadium 974.
