Official: Real Madrid will face Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey semi-finals | OneFootball

Real Madrid’s quest for the Copa del Rey trophy will see them cross paths with Real Sociedad in the semi-finals, it has been confirmed in the draw that took place at Las Rozas earlier today.

Los Blancos started the competition in the Round of 32, where they saw off Deportiva Minera before beating Celta Vigo in the Round of 16 after extra time.

The Merengues then saw off the challenge from minnows CD Leganes in the quarter-finals to reach this stage and must now defeat Real Sociedad to enter into the finals.

The other semi-final draw sees Barcelona take on Atletico Madrid.

The semi-finals are the only stage in the Copa del Rey tournament which are played across two legs. The first leg will take place in the week of February 26 at Anoeta while the second leg will be played in the week of April 2 at the Bernabeu.

The grand finale will take place on April 26.
