OGC Nice set to rival Lille in their chase of Heerenveen’s winger Osame Sahraoui | OneFootball

With the broadcasting rights’ issue now being resolved, Ligue 1 clubs’ transfer business is set to start. In their quest to strengthen their offensive units, OGC Nice and Lille OSC are set to battle for Heerenveen’s talented winger, Osame Sahraoui (23).

Arriving in Eredivisie during the winter of 2023, Sahraoui didn’t fail to make an immediate impression with his first experience abroad. Last season, the Norwegian international netted eight goals and delivered eight further assists in 33 games across all competitions. Mainly used as a left winger with Heerevenveen, he showed his versatility at Valeranga, his formative club, where he also played as an attacking midfielder. With Yusuf Yazici’s (27) departure on a free transfer following his contracts expiry and the likely sales of both Jonathan David (24) and Angel Gomes (23) due to their contract set to expire next summer, Lille are looking to strengthen their offensive area and have set their sights on the technical winger, who has been one of Eredivisie’s sensations last season. A similar situation to the one at OGC Nice, who are expecting multiple departures and are looking to start a new era under Frank Haise.

Lille have already sent a first offer to Heerenveen

According to Foot Mercato, both OGC Nice and Lille are tracking Osame Sahraoui, with Les Dogues having already sent a first offer to Heerenveen. The Dutch outfit have set a €10M-valuation on their winger, an amount that Lille have failed to meet, resulting in their approach being rejected. OGC Nice are set to also bid for the Norwegian international in the next few days. It remains to be seen if either Les Dogues or Les Aiglons will show themselves persuasive enough and meet the Dutch club’s valuation of their player, who still has two years left on his contract.
