AZ Alkmaar striker Lequincio Zeefuik (20) has joined OH Leuven in a loan-to-buy move, as per Voetbal International.
The Amsterdam-born forward initially joined AZ from FC Volendam in January 2024, yet transfers to the Belgian Pro League club after a goalless stint with De Kaasboeren’s first team.
Zeefuik did manage to score twice for Jong AZ in the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, despite limited opportunities at the AFAS Stadion. Now, a first move abroad provides a fresh stint on the 6 ft 6 frontman’s ever-developing CV. Leuven’s director Frédéric Van den Steen spoke enthusiastically of the club’s freshly-acquired talent.
“Zeefuik is a big and strong attacker with many technical qualities. He has already proven himself at a young age in the Eredivisie and is seen as a great talent in the Netherlands. Moreover, he showed himself to be very hungry during the conversations we had with him and his entourage.”
On arrival, Zeefuik said: “The first impressions of the club are very positive. I want to make the supporters and everyone at OH Leuven happy and I’m going to give it my all – in every match, every training. I’m a creative striker who can create something out of nothing. I want to score goals and be important for this club.”
