BELMOPAN, Belize – CD Olimpia won 6-1 against Port Layola FC in the 2024 Concacaf Central American Cup on Thursday night at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan, Belize.
José Pinto opened the scoring in the 16' as the visitors took the lead off a strike from the left side of the penalty area.
Andres Orozco tied for the home side in the 22' with a header at the right post off a cross from Enfield Nunez.
Yustin Arboleda retook the lead for the visiting team in the 39' with a header in front of goal to capitalize on a corner kick opportunity
Edwin Rodríguez struck with a Left-footed shot in the box in the 59' to extend the lead for the Honduran side.
Jorge Benguché added his name to the scoresheet in the 61' with a power hit inside the penalty area.
Edwin Solano struck inside the goal area in the 77' to connect on a cross from the right side of midfield.
Josman Figueroa put a bow on the victory in the 90'+1 with a header inside the box to capitalize off another corner kick.
CD Olimpia improved to six points to keep hold of first place in Group B. The next encounter for the Honduran champions will travel to face C.D. Águila on August 22.
Port Layola FC will travel to C.D. Águila prior to that encounter, on August 14, as the Belize side continues searching for its first victory.
