One misses out as Athletic Club return to training before Man United clash | OneFootball

There was one altogether noteworthy absence from the latest first-team training session at La Liga outfit Athletic Club on Monday.

The player to have missed out? Oihan Sancet.

Midfielder Sancet was for his part forced into a premature departure from Athletic’s most recent outing.

En route to a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas last week, the Spaniard pulled up with a muscular concern, before swiftly limping from the field of play.

As much was subsequently confirmed to be a hamstring injury, a heavy blow for club and player alike, amid what has been a wonderful season on Sancet’s part.

The rest of Ernesto Valverde’s squad were put through their paces as normal earlier today, with a view to Thursday’s Europa League semi-final first-leg showdown with Manchester United.

Should things not change unexpectedly over the coming days, however, Athletic will be forced to make do without the contributions of their top scorer at San Mamés.
