Earlier in the month, Joan Laporta faced immense pressure from Barcelona fan groups and his opposition, for mishandling the Dani Olmo and Pau Victor saga.
These groups even issued a statement, demanding Laporta to submit his resignation, though sentiment has gotten a bit better since CSD issued a precautionary measure for the registration of Olmo and Victor.
However, Laporta has also once again found himself on the firing lines.
According to AS, several fan groups and pre-election platforms have intensified their call for Joan Laporta, the president of FC Barcelona, to submit to a vote of confidence.
This demand comes in the wake of Laporta’s recent press conference where he accused his critics of lacking love for the club and pursuing personal interests.
A coalition of nine groups, including Compromíssaris FCB, Dignitat Blaugrana, and pre-election platforms like Som un Clam and Si al Futur, released a joint statement.

They criticized Laporta’s recent comments and urged him to embrace pluralism and dialogue within the club.
“We are members who live the Club with intensity, passion, a critical spirit and we seek excellence,” the statement read.
They reminded Laporta of his own past as an opponent when he led the Elefant Blau platform, pointing out the irony in his current stance against criticism.
The opposition groups are not backing down; they demand that Laporta and his board face a vote of confidence at the end of the current season.
“We request that the president and the board of directors submit to a vote of confidence when the competitions have finished,” the statement concluded, referring to their previous statement on January 5 where they reserved the right to pursue a censure motion if necessary.
