There is optimism that defender Alessandro Bastoni will be fit for Tuesday’s Champions League clash between Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInter1908. They report that the 25-year-old had a personalized training session today.

Alessandro Bastoni started for Inter Milan in yesterday’s Serie A clash with Parma.

The 25-year-old did see out the entire first half of the match.

However, Bastoni had to come off the pitch at halftime.

The Italian did manage to return to the bench to watch the match with his teammates. However, this was with an ice pack applied to his left knee.

Naturally, that raised the alarm as far as Bastoni’s fitness.

After the match, Inter Milan assistant coach Massimiliano Farris downplayed fears around Bastoni’s fitness.

The assistant coach suggested, therefore, that it was just a minor problem. The substitution was purely precautionary.

However, with Inter set to face Bayern Munich in a Champions League quarterfinal first leg in just a couple days, that doesn’t leave much time for Bastoni’s recovery.

There has therefore been some doubt about the Italian international’s availability.

However, the signs today have been positive.

FCIN1908 report that Bastoni had a personalized training session. And this went positively.

Therefore, the feeling is that the Italian international should be able to be part of the squad on Tuesday.
