FC Barcelona were put to the test by a spirited Celta Vigo team that visited the Montjuic for their La Liga match last night. The visitors were able to get a 3-1 scoreline in their favour by the 62nd minute, and the Blaugrana team had to ensure they made no mistakes as they got a 4-3 win with Raphinha converting a penalty in the very last minute of the match.

Keeping in view the situation of the game, Hansi Flick had to manage his team very carefully, and he made all the five substitutions in this match.

First, he made a double substitution, as he brought on Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo for Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres in the 59 minute. He was then forced into making another change as Robert Lewandowski went down with a physical problem, and had to be replaced by Gavi in the 78th minute.

Lastly, he made another double change in the final minutes of the game, as he introduced Eric Garcia and Pau Victor for Pau Cubarsi and Gerard Martin.

Ultimately, these changes proved to be important as Olmo was one of the players who turned around the game for Barcelona. However, as Mundo Deportivo has reported, not everyone was happy with these substitutions.

The individual most unhappy with Flick’s management of the substitutions was the forward Ansu Fati, who warmed up on the sidelines but was unable to get on the pitch.

The Spaniard showed his anger at the end of the match, as he first kicked the team’s cooler, then threw his vest on the ground, and then kicked another object on the ground, while making his way to the bench.

While this outburst was rather unexpected, the forward’s frustration is understandable. Fati has played only the final few minutes of the 4-0 UCL win against Borussia Dortmund and has not played in La Liga since November.

Hopefully, his situation will improve in the coming weeks before the end of the season as he is likely to leave the Catalan club this upcoming summer.
