Crystal Palace’s remarkable rise under Oliver Glasner continued last night as they reached a historic milestone in the Premier League era.

Their 4-2 victory over Wolves saw the Eagles hit 52 points for the 2024/25 season - the most they've ever achieved since the competition began in 1992.

The result came just a little over 72 hours after Palace lifted the FA Cup and they didn’t let the celebrations slow them down.

Goals from Eddie Nketiah (who bagged a brace), Ben Chilwell, and Eberechi Eze ensured a convincing win and another three points added to an already impressive campaign.

Crystal Palace’s 52-point haul this season is their highest ever in the Premier League era, surpassing their previous best of 49 points, which they achieved in the 2023/24, 2018/19, and 1992/93 campaigns.

And it’s not just the points total grabbing attention. Palace have picked up 22 wins across all competitions this season - the second most they've ever managed in a top-flight campaign.

The only time they’ve done better was back in 1990/91, when they won 28.

Glasner deserves huge credit for the turnaround. He’s now been in charge for 50 Premier League matches and has picked up 76 points (20 wins, 16 draws, 14 losses) – more than any other Palace boss in their first 50 top-flight games.

With their spot in next season’s UEFA Europa League already secured, there's a genuine sense that this is a new era at Selhurst Park. European football is on the way, and for a club that’s often flirted with the lower half of the table, this feels like a significant turning point.
