Vitor Roque is staring at an uncertain future in Europe, with Palmeiras pushing hard to sign the Barcelona outcast, who is currently on loan at Real Betis.
The 19-year-old striker struggled at Barcelona after arriving in January last year and his time at Betis on loan has not been a roaring success either.
With the transfer window open in Brazil until February 28, Palmeiras are eager to take Tigrinho back to his homeland and have an agreement with Barcelona over a €25 million fee for 80% of the youngster’s rights but also need Real Betis’ approval to get the deal moving.
Now, SPORT reports that Leila Pereira, Palmeiras’ president and business magnate, is applying pressure to ensure an immediate resolution. She has given all parties a strict 48-hour deadline to reach an agreement, and the clock is already ticking.
As mentioned earlier, Palmeiras’ definitive offer is a €25 million transfer for 80% of Vitor Roque’s economic rights, with Barcelona retaining the remaining 20%.

These are the same financial terms that Barça and Real Betis agreed upon at the start of the season when the centre-forward was loaned to the Andalusian club.
Palmeiras have made it clear that they are not interested in a loan deal. They see Roque as a key figure in their long-term project, intending to make him their starting number nine and the highest-paid player in the squad.
Palmeiras have no intentions of offering financial compensation to Real Betis, arguing that the Seville-based club already benefits by saving four months’ worth of Roque’s wages.
Despite reports in the Brazilian media suggesting that Betis would receive €2 million to release the player early, this will not be the case.
Roque himself is keen to return to Brazil and end his stint in Spanish football. He has reached a salary agreement with Palmeiras, which meets his financial expectations.
Barcelona remain open to all possibilities but have made it clear that they will not force Roque to accept a move to Brazil or any other destination.
When negotiating with Palmeiras, Barcelona initially attempted to secure a €27 million fee—the amount the Brazilian club had previously indicated they were willing to pay in December.
However, they ultimately accepted that the transfer should align with the terms previously set with Betis. Now, it is up to all parties involved finalise the terms of the agreement and close the transfer, with Palmeiras hoping to get it done in the next 48 hours.
