Palmer will bounce back from his barren spell at Chelsea

Having been widely praised for establishing himself as Chelsea’s standout performer, the last couple of months have not gone to plan for Cole Palmer.

His drop-off has coincided with the Blues’ dip in form, yet there are plenty of reasons to believe this is just a short-term blip.

While some people seem eager to write Palmer off, it will likely not be too long before he reminds everyone why he is so highly rated.

Chelsea teammates are not helping Palmer’s cause

Palmer has not scored in the Premier League since getting on the scoresheet against Bournemouth in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge in mid-January.

You have to go back to December 1 for the last time Palmer weighed in with an assist, which further highlights how his output has dipped.

However, it is worth noting that the England international has still been creating chances at a decent rate, but his teammates have not been converting them.

Palmer’s frustration was evident at Aston Villa on Saturday, which is an inevitable reaction for a player who generally conveys a confident manner.

His overall numbers in the league – 14 goals and six assists in 26 appearances – still stack up well. A return to form will happen soon enough.
